Over a decade ago now I wrote a post on Facebook chronicling my Thursday. Every boring, mundane detail. Going shopping, doing the laundry, side tangents about how friendly people are on Thursdays at the grocery store. Everyone loved it and begged me to make it a thing.
I did. For years I would post about my Thursday and call it Thursday With Amanda. My friends and family loved it. As our family has grown and changed over the years, our priorities have shifted. I no longer have any social media whatsoever. I haven’t for some time now.
And yet, whenever I run into someone at the grocery store, even people who never engaged with me on there, always say they miss my Thursday posts. I’ve been thinking for a while now that I should start a blog as a stand-in for Thursday With Amanda. I decided Thursday was a little too limiting, and I would go with a nice vague, “today” instead!
I will post a weekly homeschool plan on Sundays, so you can see what we’re planning to do for the upcoming week. About twice a week I’ll post a day in the life blog, like my old Thursday posts. From the time I wake up, until I write it at the end of the day. It’ll be a journal style, honest post.
Another aspect of this is that we own over 6,300 children’s books! I wanted to challenge us to read as many as we can. I’ll be bringing you along with us on that journey, too! On Fridays I’ll post a rundown of what we read each day of the week with reviews and our overall thoughts.
The goal of this blog is to share and document my personal journey with you. Not to sell you anything. In the interest of full disclosure, I do have a Teacher’s Pay Teacher’s store and Amazon links will be affiliate links. But, I will only share those things as they’re relevant. I won’t be shoving them down your throat, adding a shop page, or charging you for my opinions. I just want to share our experiences, and I’d love to hear yours, too!
I hope you enjoy spending the day with me!
