Plan With Me! Books for “Week 6”

We’re getting ready to start “week 6” of Catholic Schoolhouse. I use the term loosely because I feel like it’s a lot for one week. So, we stretch each “week” over several weeks. Whenever we start a new unit I go through and pull books that are relevant to the topics. Some will be in our homeschool basket, some on a special shelf in our homeschool room the kids will browse and read or have me read at will.

Remember, this is for a unit that will last us weeks! There are some definite areas this time that I’m lacking in, so will be on the lookout for as I thrift shop! You’ll have to follow along with me as I plan and recap our weeks to see which ones we read and which ones we don’t!

Timeline: Articles of Confederation, Treaty of Paris, Constitutional Convention, George Washington, and Washington D.C. Becomes Home of New Government (We’re also still incorporating the Constitution)

We have enough books on George Washington to give him a section all his own!

For science we’re studying invertebrates. We’ve already studied insects, so we’re looking at other invertebrates for this unit.

We’re Studying Thomas Cole, and the Hudson River School for art but I have zero books on this! I only have one book that even mentions it. We read that section already, so we’re focusing on landscapes in general. We’ve also been studying Bach for many weeks. We’ve read many biographies on him, so we’re focusing on listening to his compositions instead.
