Review:
This book did a really great job at breaking down how your body is designed to fight off a stomach bug. It includes actual photographs and factual information in a digestible format. Pun absolutely intended. The kids and I all really enjoyed reading it and looking at all of the pictures.
One thing I was a little worried about before cracking it open was whether it would lean heavily on medication or not. It didn’t mention it at all. The entire book is about how your body is designed (can’t recall if it uses that word exactly or not) to fight off infections. It frames vomiting and diarrhea as a totally normal part of that process, which can be really reassuring for kids when they’re sick. I can see the value in being able to remind them that their body is doing what it’s made to do.
Kid Thoughts:
They were totally engrossed and asked some really good questions. Teeny especially was fascinated by it. We have some more in the series that she’s excited to read!
